Stores / Manufacturing Operative

Permanent position – 39 Hours per week

 We have an opportunity for an additional Stores / Manufacturing Operative. This position will add to our existing, highly skilled team, responsible for the picking, processing, and checking of both SMD and PTH components. We manufacture in small batch sizes which keeps the job varied and interesting. This additional position within the stores / manufacturing team have arisen due to continued increase in demand from our existing customers and from winning new business in a very competitive marketplace.

 Key job responsibilities:

  • To assist with booking in of both purchased and free issue materials entering the business. While testing some parts to check that they are the correct values.
  • To pick and kit all material that is required for works orders. This is to be completed in line with the paperwork generated to achieve the required build date for production. Subsequently de-kitting of these kits.
  • To carry out perpetual stock takes month to month, ensuring that all material stock reports are as accurate as possible.
  • To assist when required with the loading and unloading of a wide range and sizes of SMT components received as kits of parts from stores onto the ‘feeder carts’ which interface with the SMT pick and place machines.
  • To assist when required (e.g., Holiday cover) running of an SMT line.


Skills and experience:

  • Goods receiving and product checking
  • Picking and kitting material for production
  • Working in an ISO9001 environment would be advantageous
  • Experience of working in an ESD environment is advantageous
  • Any previous experience in a stores function
  • Using PCs and software packages; Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Providing support to manufacturing when required
  • Working with others to resolve manufacturing and despatch difficulties
  • Working in a multi-product, mixed manufacturing environment
